Dear Friends,
Becoming is a lifelong unfolding. It does not require urgency, nor does it demand that you wake one morning entirely transformed. Real change rarely arrives in sweeping, cinematic moments. More often, it enters quietly, almost unnoticed, until one day you realize you no longer respond to life the same way.
Becoming is the boundary you finally uphold without apologizing. It is the conversation you no longer rehearse afterward, wondering what you should have said differently. It is a habit you slowly leave behind, a belief you begin to question, or the moment you recognize that something you once wanted no longer belongs to the person you are becoming.
Yet we live in a world fascinated by transformation. We are encouraged to reinvent ourselves, improve ourselves, and become stronger, happier, and more successful—preferably as quickly as possible. Growth becomes another achievement to measure, and another destination to reach.
But you are not a project with a deadline.
Nature rarely hurries what it intends to keep. A tree does not pull at its branches to make them grow. A flower does not unfold its petals before they are ready. Roots deepen where no one can see them, preparing for a season that has not yet arrived.
We are allowed the same grace. Forced growth can leave us exhausted from trying to become someone before we understand who that person is. Growth that is nurtured has time to take root. You are allowed to change your mind, choose another direction, outgrow an old dream, or discover something about yourself you never expected. You do not need to explain every change or broadcast every step. Some transformations need time away from the eyes and expectations of others.
This week, I encourage you to let go of the pressure to be impressive. Instead, become honest. Pay attention to what feels true now. Notice what you are naturally moving toward and what you may finally be ready to leave behind.
You do not need to rush toward the person you are becoming. You are already meeting that person, one small choice at a time. May your becoming feel natural rather than rushed. May you trust the small shifts taking place within you, and may you give yourself permission to unfold in your own time.
With warmth,
Comfort and Joy
