Letter Five: Learning to Rest Without Apology

Dear Friends,

Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught to treat rest as a reward—a luxury earned only after exhaustion, achievement, or sacrifice. But you were never meant to live that way. Rest is not an indulgence. It is a necessity, a birthright, a quiet declaration that your worth is not measured by motion.

To rest without apology is to reclaim something sacred: your humanity. It means stepping out of the endless loop of “just one more thing.” It means listening to the ache in your bones and believing it. It means trusting that the world will not unravel if you pause.

This week, if you feel tired, let that be enough reason to slow down. Say yes to rest before burnout demands it. Let your body soften, your mind unclench, and your spirit breathe.

Rest is not laziness.
Rest is repair.
Rest is wisdom.

May you grant yourself the permission no one else ever offered. May rest be a gentle companion and not a guilty secret. And may every pause become a quiet act of self-honoring.

With warmth,
Comfort and Joy
